James Rodriguez has ended speculation linking him with a move away from Real Madrid by confirming he will stay and fight for his place.
Rumours had been circulating that the Colombia international was attracting the interest of both Chelsea and Manchester United after starting just four LaLiga games in the first half of the season.
But the 25-year-old, who played a starring role with two goals against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, is committed to fighting for his place after talks with Zidane.
Speaking to beIN Sports after the match, James said: "All of us who are in the team always want to play.
"But I am fine. We all go through difficult times and now it's a new year and I have new desires in life. I am staying, I am staying."
Both James' agent and father had previously insisted the attacker would not be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
James joined Madrid from Monaco in 2014 but his stock has fallen somewhat since arriving as one of the hottest properties in world football after that year's World Cup in Brazil.
